This is what I was talking about keeping your eyes on the road when you’re looking for deals. Just being proactive and just keeping an eye out. Not just online, not just on the paper, not just through friends and family but on the road too.
In the video, I just found a car that I’m going to take a look at quick.
It’s $1800. Let’s go take a look at it. Looks like an Accord.
Let’s see what we got.
Looks like it needs a little bodywork. A little damage on the side. I wonder how many miles it has. Looks like it needs some bodywork in the front. A little beat up. It’s 2001.
So what I’ll do now is to probably give him a call and see how many miles are on it. See if it’s a salvaged title or clear title. And start from there.
It took me 2 minutes to look at it. It needs a little bodywork and paint which is no problem because I have that skill and you can too if you go to LearnAutoBodyAndPaint. They have amazing courses there that teach you DIY auto body and paint. *Wink *Wink
Anyway, I will keep you posted on it if it seems like a good deal. It looked like it needed a little body and paint. At $1800, I’m sure and in fact I’m positive that it would go down a lot more. I’ll probably get it at $1300-$1400 with a little bit of tactful negotiation.
That’s what I mean. Just keep your eyes open. You’re going to see cars like these all around. It looks like it has nice rims as well.
Let’s go back and take another quick look at it. It’s a nice Honda Accord.
I remember I bought one of those a few years ago. That was actually the same car I bought from a military guy. He was asking, I think $4500. I ended up getting it for $2000. Can you believe that?!
That’s the car that was smoking like crazy. I knew it when I inspected the car. I went home and checked it out.
It had 12 quarts of oil on it. It’s supposed to have only 4-4 1/2 quarts of oil. These little 4 cylinders. I drained out all oil. The engine was basically drowning in its own oil. I dropped the oil, changed the oil and it ran like new again. I sold it for, I think $4500 or $5000. That’s what I did. It’s pretty cool.
