How To Get Started Buying and Selling Cars For Profit

1. Condition Your Mind To Find Deals (do some book work!)

When buying and selling cars for profit, my mistake early on was investing too much in cars that I personally wanted. I was not interested in what the mass market was looking for and I talk about this in a lot of my videos and show you a great way around this within my F1 AutoCash Formula Course. I just wasn’t thinking and didn’t realize that it wasn’t about me.

It was about them. Your buyers.

Research your market. No matter where you live you can do this.

It’s all based on knowing the market. What cars to buy, and what cars to sell for maximum sales.

Buying and selling cars can be tricky only if you don’t know your market and the numbers. The (PME) is VERY important when searching for deals and it’s all broken down inside F1.

Doing local market research is the key to success. As you surf online through whatever online classified that you choose to use you will start to find deals.

You will start to understand the market and you’ll be able to differentiate the good deals vs the bad deals QUICKLY.

You know when you like a car, you start to see them all over the place and other people driving them?

It’s the same thing with deals. It will start to come natural to you. The year of the vehicle and the prices listed will start to make sense as you surf and fish for deals.

Time and efficiency is KING.

Once you start to see the deals, they will start to pop up all ove the place. But I do admit some weeks you may spend a little more time searching for deals than others.

It all averages out.

I have had times where I go online and instantly find a deal within 10 minutes, call the seller, look at the car and make a cash deal within hours. It happens more than you think.

You need to be on TOP of your game and be proactive.

Consistency is also key here. You can’t get started, put an hour’s work in a week and expect to see results. Like anything, you must plant the seeds before seeing massive results.

What’s Really Going On at Automotive Auctions

Auto auctions are the NEW breeding ground for newbie car flippers. It’s been getting worse over the past 5 years.

What’s happening?

Car dealers are selling ‘licenses’ to the general public (Joe Schmoe). Joe, gets to use the dealers license to buy cars at dealer auctions at the price of a monthly recurring fee (usually $300 – $1,500) depending on from who they get it from. Plus a one time setup fee to use the services.

Now, this specific dealer has a group of Joe’s paying a recurring income to him. And all Joe’s get to bid each other out. Creating war against each other.

Most of these guys just want to go in and score a deal for themselves so they end up driving the bid prices up all the way to the moon!

In the end, there is no room for profit.

I have been hearing so many people going to auctions and seeing the prices of cars go past speck values. It’s the nature of the beast.

Auctions and Insiders (Buying and Selling Cars for Profit)

If you don’t have the insider connection, auctions are not the best place to start. Notice I said not the best place to start, but you still can find great deals once you understand the game.

10 years ago the auto auctions were a PRIME place to get car deals.

I am not saying that you can’t get good deals at auctions now, I’m saying there getting more competitive.

Reason why is, many are opening up to the public and dealers are selling “licenses” to the average Joe’s so they can attend dealer only auctions and bid on cars.

What do you think happens when people with no car flipping experience go to auto auctions and start bidding on cars?

Well, I’ll tell you.

They start bidding and bid too high for cars. They drive all of the prices up and when you walk out of the auctions you end up with a not so good deal.

Stay active in the p/p market.

Scour the online classifieds, keep your eyes open on the street and spread the word that you buy cars. Plant the seeds.

…and in time, you’ll start seeing massive results.

How To Start Buying and Selling Cars With $500?

If you’ve watched the video above you can see that you really can start buying and selling cars with a few hundred dollars.

Heck, I started on a $35. 1980′s Honda Civic.

Look for cars that are priced at around $200 – 1,200.

Just because you only have around $500 to work with, it doesn’t mean that you can’t look at $1,000 – 1,200 dollar cars.

You can sometimes negotiate a car with an asking price of 1,000 down to $500 because it may need repairs etc.

Of course, you’ll have to know the real street value of this car so you would know how much you can invest in it and how much you can possibly sell it for.

Just because a person lists a car for $1,000 or $1,500 doesn’t mean that the car is actually worth it.

He may have no idea of what it’s worth. He may be over pricing or under pricing his vehicle BIG TIME.

If he is underpricing the car, I will tell you (find a way to come up with the money and get it) because it will be gone FAST.

Great deals last hours and no more than a few days at max.

This is why you must constantly be searching for deals because you will score one.

Start small, learn to double or tripple your money. I show you EXACTLY how to do this.

Take your profits and invest in better cars, then double your profits on that car.

When buying and selling cars for profit you have to take into consideration 3 main factors.

• Where to get your deals.
• How much to invest or how much to spruce up.
• How to properly advertise your vehicle to ensure a FAST SALE.

1. Where To Get Your Car Deals?

there are a few ways to get deals, one being auto auctions but I do not recommend them for beginner car flippers or if you’re still in the learning stages and want to profit more per car flip. Auctions can be tricky because a lot of newbie business men get lured into this business thinking that auto auctions are the best and easiest place to score deals.

Over the years this has proven to be bad advice. With a ton of newbie bidders flocking to these insurance and even dealer auctions the bidding wars has gotten really tough.

First of all, these newbie buyers don’t know the real pricing on the street enough to make a profit on their buys. They all get too emotional while participating in the bidding wars and they don’t buy with their heads they start bidding on emotion and revenge. They over pay for their cars then say to them selves that the market is too competitive and give up.

This is why I love the private party market and recommend that you get started here. You’ll have an easier time inspecting your used car, a better time negotiating with sellers and a lot less competition with other potential buyers. The key is to be FAST when looking at a deal and scooping it up on the spot. I break this topic in great detail within the F1 Formula Course.

2. How Much To Invest Into Your Car That You Have for Sale?

This is a big one. When I started to buy and sell cars for profits I used to buy all of the cars that needed too much work. Sometimes I bought cars that I thought didn’t need much but as I got into the car getting it ready for sale I would find repairs that needed to be fixed before selling.

This is why proper inspections are really important. When buying at auctions you have a bigger chance to run into these kins of problems because you don’t or can’t really inspect the vehicles the way you really want to. You basically buy blind and on chance many times. Then later you discover problems that need fixing before you can resell.

3. How To Properly Advertise Your Vehicle To Ensure a FAST SALE

Selling your car is just as important as finding a good deal. What’s the use of having a great car for sale if you can’t sell it? Or what if you’re siting on a car longer than you expect to? 3 weeks, 4 weeks, over a month?

Knowing how to write ads to get floods of interested prospects looking at your car is very important and almost over looked by the average Joe.

Think about it, most people slap a few words on a page, through up a few pictures and hopt to sell their car. Yes they may get lucky and sell it quick but with a little tactic behind this part you can really position your ad and car above the lame rest and stand out pretty easily.

The formatting of your ad is VERY important, pictures are important, your story is important and also if you use video or not will make a big difference in getting hungry buyers to take a look at your vehicle.

A lot of newbies get burned.

They get sucked into this field thinking that it’s a walk in the park. “Ohh, flipping cars is easy.” “It’s common sense, anybody can flip cars for profit” “What’s so hard about buying a car and selling it for a profit?”

Then they make some lame ass excuse because they didn’t make the profit that they wanted on it or why they lost money on the deal.

These stories are brewing everyday.

Well, if you think like that person above, then I can’t help you. But if you realize that the easy money is possible and has something to do with specialized knowledge, some ‘insider information’ then this might be a read for you.

How Do I Bring My Car Back Home With No Plates or Insurance?

This is a common question that I get asked a lot. Please watch the video below. I talk all about that and I also touch on how many cars you can flip per month/ year.

Here is the gist of it in text format below:

Get and hook up with a tow service that can do a certain amount of tows for you monthly or annually.

I use a service and reveal the exact guys that I use in the States within the F1 Formula course. Best part – you can use the same people I do and get free tow truck service.

There is a specific way to use them for this purpose and I ‘ll show you the exact ways to getting things done. How to talk to them properly, what to say and not say  so you can successfully use your credits to get your vehicle home at no charge.

Call it gaming the system, but you did initially pay for this service initially.

You might as well use the heck out of them. Again, I reveal who this national company is and how you too can use them just like I do to get free tows all year long. Plus you and your spouse (if you have one) will be covered and get many extra benefits.

Have a friend or family member tail you home. It works. I’ve done it many times.

If I get pulled over, I usually say “Officer, I just bought the car and were on the way to take it home so we can schedule to get it inspected and get plates for the car”. I have never been hassled or been given a ticket for taking a car home that I’ve just purchased.

How Many Cars Can I Buy and Sell?

Another popular question. How many cars can I flip without getting busted by the State Tony?

The legal limit to how many cars you can buy and sell varies from State to State. But I will say that the average is about 5-8 per year. Any more can you have a possibility of raising a red flag.

They only way that they know that you’re flipping cars is by how many you get registered in your name at the Driver Motor Vehicle (DMV).

If you don’t get them registered, then they have no idea. They only know what you tell them.

With that said, I’ve known of many people who jump titles. It’s a way of flipping a car with no trace back to you. And it’s still done every day.

There is another way to flip cars too. And here’s the way I would recommend.

1. Do the legal limit. Flip 5-8. Get them registered and legit. Make yourself $1,500 – $2,500 on each flip first. After you’ve done it and actually made some real money doing it, then think about how to do more legally.

2. Flip in your local markets using online classifieds like craigslist or kijiji. There are many more that I cover within the course so don;t worry if these resources don’t look familiar to you. We have your back no matter what Country you’re doing this out of.

Well, you don’t really have to think too hard because I’ve got your back. I can show you (when your ready) even if your ready now, how to flip 2x, 3x, 4x that amount of cars all legally.

Then you’ll basically 4x your profits. This is all done by (using the F1 Formula). Then you can continue on that path year after year. It may be just enough to say to yourself “That’s all I need” I don’t need to flip more than that.

But if you feel like that’s not enough, then we can take it to the next level. You can then start going to auto auctions, and maybe even get a dealers license.

This is what happens when you don’t follow the rules. Many newbies who get into the car game think auto auctions are the holy grail.

They can be. But nowadays, far from it. Especially with all of the competition. Most are open to the public, dealers are selling memberships and licenses to ANYBODY OFF THE STREET who wants to become a car dealer, and who’s making out?

Well, it’s not you! 

Listen, if you’re just starting out and want to learn how to buy and sell cars for profits then start with something that you can handle. Don’t go over budget, or get caught up in some auction hype.

Yeah, auctions can be a whirlwind. You get started on bidding, your ego kicks in and your buying a car thats worth $2,000 for $2,500! Then you gotta pay pull out fees and taxes and maybe even some transportation to get it to whatever location you want to get it to.

Plus, you gotta get this thing road ready, fix it (if needed) or spruce it up. By the time your ready to sell it your in the thing $2,800.

Now what?

I hope this isin’t you. I hope you start SMART. Start logical and start with a plan for success. This is where I come in. I’ve been buying cars, auctions, tow companies, part companies, off the street, trades, you name it.

And all of that experience came with a HEAFTY PRICE TAG. Lessons learned the HARD way. But luckily for you, you can avoid all of this mess and pick from the gently washed and dried plump cherry basket.

Ive took all of my learning experiences, all of my failures, all of my closely guarded tips and tricks that will help you move forward FAST with this business whether you’re a total newbie or intermediate flipper looking to learn new tricks to apply to the game.

I just found this car scams video and had to share it with you.

This is what NOT do to when flipping cars for profits. This is not what the business is about. The business is about getting great used car deals, make them look great, tune them up (if needed) and create a win-win situation for both you the seller and the buyer.

When you can do this. Not only do you feel great when selling the car you also won’t have to worry and sleep better at night after the car has sold.

I get a ton of emails from subscribers asking, “Tony, I bought a car at an auction and the transmission ended up being bad” “The engine was shot” …”It has electrical problems”  etc…

And yes, it’s true. Unless you know HOW TO BUY AT AUCTIONS, you have a very good chance of getting something you never planed for. It can totally screw you on profits and you may even lose a lot of money.

This situation actually put’s a lot of your competitors out of business FAST. This is why I recommend that if you’re just starting out, start in the private party market.

• The cars are much better in quality.
• You can take more time for inspection.
• You can negotiate awesome deals.

So how can YOU get started?

The first step. Have certainty that you will do this. Because without it, you won’t take action which means that you will not get results. Imagine seeing yourself buy and sell a car for profit. Imagine how fun it was. Imagine the money you made from it. Imagine doing it again.

If you can see yourself do it. You can make it happen.

2nd. Get the right information on how to do it. And if you haven’t bought and sold a car for profit before, or have and haven’t gotten the results that you were expecting, see this video.

3rd. Get to work. Get online and find a deal. do your magic, get it home, spruce it up, repost it for sale with a winning ad that get’s hungry buyers calling you like crazy. Sell it. Profit.

Don’t get caught up on car scams. Be legit.
